Good mod site?

Is there any site to get mods that doesn't require a stupid FilePlanet
login? I've been going around in circles with this damn company and I've
given up on them. I keep getting "Thank you for verifying your account",
immediately followed by "Username does not exist". I think their sign-up
script is broken or something, but I can't get it to actually let me
download any files from Morrowind Summit, which is where most people seem to
be getting their mods. Is there another way? I really don't feel like
going through this hassle all over again, and I'll probably get flooded with
spam for it anyhow...

Morrowind Summit is a decent site and it has supported the community
for a long time. But as you said, the FilePlanet bit is a little
annoying - which is one of the reasons why many modders have lately
been uploading to TESMods:

....Well then it's a shame that I couldn't view his followup, seeing as how
I've had Google Groups posts killfiled since the Clinton administration.

Fortunately, plonking you won't have such nasty repercussions, since the
vast majority of your posts consist of uninteresting and uninsightful
anecdotes that display a sense of humor and a level of intelligence that
is on par with that of a sexually frustrated dolphin, at best.

Farewell, Mr. Hoffman...

the problem is, there's a very good reason FilePlanet is used;
bandwidth. large mods take up not only webspace but every download of
them uses a large portion of the avaliable bandwidth, the more bandwidth
is used, the more the site hosts have to pay to keep ir running, and
since they're non-profit sites it's in their best intrests to keep
bandwidth from getting that high. fileplanet offer a free, if awkward,
hosting service for the files
if you're having trouble with them though, the best thing would be to
email fileplanet about it directly. if I remember right though, you
don't actually get a username for fileplanet, you use your email address
to log in with

Wow. I'm just thinking how lonely Usenet must be for you if you plonk
everybody for such petty reasons. Oh well, I guess you won't ever read
this, but enjoy your solitude.
