Good motherboard and CPU to pair with a GTX 1050 ti?

My current CPU isn't great, and to upgrade it i've been told I need to upgrade my motherboard as well. Does anyone have any recommendations on a CPU and motherboard that would work well in tandem with a GTX 1050 ti to run games as well as I can with this graphics card?

ryzen 1200 and b350 mb,or maybe wait for mb for i3 8100 in 1-2 months.
i3 8100 should be better for gaming.

Yes, you need a completely new motherboard that accepts Coffee Lake CPUs (which are the more expensive Z370 boards) as well as DDR4 RAM.
