My current motherboard has died and i am now in the market for a new one and was looking for suggestions. My full spec list is as follows
MSI 1070
i7 7700k
2tb barracuda hdd
2 nvme 256gb ssds
2- 8gb ram sticks (3200 mhz)
850w platinum psu.
and future asperations only include upgrading graphics card at some point in the future if price stabilize. If anyone has any suggestions or good places to look for boards it would be much appreciated.

I recently was in market to for a motherboard for my i5 6600k. Ebay is a good place for used motherboards without paying to much money. I got a
z270 gaming pro carbon on ebay for 100$. I would check on EBAY for good deals used or new on a z270 or z170. Something with a 200 series chipset on the motherboard to support your 7th gen kaby lake cpu with a 30 day return just incase. Its a struggle finding affordable and compatible motherboards since the pandemic wish u luck

I was looking at ebay but got very worried about dead on arrival boards. Using your experience as an example, did it have any problems even small or did it work perfectly?

My motherboard was fine the person i bought from though takes 30 day returns and paid for the shipping. Honestly i a good deal on itand the motherboard looks almost brand new and has all the accessories. Anywhere else motherboard prices are crazy!

The 7700k gets a good price secondhand, way above what it should for the level of performance. You could probably sell the cpu and add the money for a new motherboard and buy a new cpu/motherboard that is significantly better for the same money.

What motherboard did u have before?

I recommend this if this person is interested in doing that. Sell it for like 300$ get like 9th gen i5 9600k for like 200$ and like a 300 series chipset motherboard for like 150$. IDN
I’d much rather a 3600X than a 9600k, 12 threads vs 6 and as a result the 9600k is being pushed really hard in newer AAAa games. A 3600X and B450/B550 motherboard would be a nice upgrade.

Amd is better than intel anyway i use 3600X their around like 250$ new though could save a buck and just got the 3600 instead of the X still got the same cores and threads

Going amd is a good choice has upgradability for latest 5000 series amd cpu's. Their is alot of room for upgrades in the future.
