Good Operating System?

I have a a xps d333 with windows 98se installed. It has a 333mhz pentium 2 and 96mb ram. what's the best operating syatem to use. I like 98 and am conaidering a dualboot but I wont a more usuable Os for other uses. The pc wont be used as a main pc. Just for wordprocessing and internet browsing. Also gaming on the windows 98. I like linux but really aren't a fan of dsl linux. Windows is fine though would 2000 work?

windows 98 is good operating system it has more 3rd party support then windows 2000 do a search and look for the newest unofficial service pack and install kernelex 4.5.2 and u will be able to run a few programs that run on 2000 and xp and ur gonna want to find 2 128 pc100 ram sticks in there, xp with all its updates and virus protection u will need atleast 512mb of ram witch i doubt ur system will handle, here are some videos on a modified 98se system https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhhx8yG5EYk and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY4NQQmQ9wM
