i'm thinking about getting one of these guys:

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN40B6000-40-Inch-1080p-HDTV/dp/B001UHMV90

as a computer monitor simply simply because i would love to have a big screen for games as well as blu ray. admittedly, i'm a noob when it comes to optimal pc viewing pleasure and don't know if i would be making a fatal mistake. i don't think i would be though because i don't use my pc for anything other than entertainment purposes (i have a laptop for work).

i understand that automotion would make pc games ghost a bit? like i said, i'm not clear about all the technical aspects of it all.

Solution
The refresh rate should take care of the ghosting effect- in theory at least. I think that it will work out just fine for your PC use. One thing to keep in mind with using a tv as a monitor is that sometimes they refuse to center the picture properly, i.e. the image will run off screen sometimes. I'm not sure if that particular model would do that or not to be honest.
