I have a ASUS M5A97 (R2.0) motherboard ,which is apprantly good for overclocking (source:http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database) and a cooler master hyper 212 evo ,also the cpu is AMD FX 8120

It's a good motherboard, a... decent-ish CPU. Look up some tutorials, you'll find that it's really all raising by increments, testing for stability, monitoring temperatures. Running Prime95 for 5 minutes is not sufficient. Run it for a couple hours at least, and when you're getting ready to go to sleep, turn it on and let it run overnight. If it's still going in the morning, it's stable. 62c on the core is a bit low, a lot of people recommend that, but really it's safe to go up to 70, or even 75 without reducing the lifetime of your CPU.

could u explain this to me ?
It seems that the LLC functions on some of the M5A97 Motherboards does not function as intended.
If you run into stability issues and strange voltages using LLC, it's recommended to leave it set to Auto.

also is about 3 hours recommended on prime95 ? also what shall i do if my computer switches of as i dont want to burn out my cpu and mobo

You don't have to use LLC. I personally did for stability reasons. LLC will prevent the voltage from dropping beneath the value you've set it to, and it will increase under 100% load - if you're stable, don't bother with it.

3 hours should be fine. I tend to do about half an hour between each test (smallFFT then Blend) to ensure it's at least partially stable before I tweak anything else. Once you get to a point you're happy with I'd personally leave it on smallFFT, Blend, and largeFFT for 6 hours respectively.

If your computer switches off it will be due to temperatures. As I said, try not to exceed 62c on the core and 70c on the socket - they're the official max temps, though you're probably safe 5-10C over each. It should say in the guide that you need a temperature monitoring program such as HWiNFO64 or HWMonitor to ensure you don't exceed the temperature limits. If you do, revert back to your previous settings. Remember to follow the guide, and only increase multiplier incrementally and then voltage incrementally when necessary.

can i do any real damage from overclocking and will i even see that much of a benifit

Yes, it can do damage if it's not done correctly, though most modern CPUs will shut themselves down before causing any lasting damage. Just don't exceed 1.5V voltage, that can kill it far easier.

Yes you will see a benefit - increased clockspeed results to increased performance.

im going to sound like an idiot but my computer already feels really fast and would i et a slight FPS increase in games ? also benchmarks mean othing to me just real world performence

Yes, a performance increase is an FPS increase. If you feel you don't need to overclock, don't bother.

Overclocking is something that is not necessary, games run just fine without it, but it offers a nice boost that is often noticeable, especially later on as your CPU starts becoming dated. What size case fans do you need? How quiet do you need them? Silent or just not jets? Any preferences for color? Budget?

Front: 120mm x 1 (120mm Red LED Included)
Side: 120 / 140mm x 1
Rear: 80 / 90 / 120mm x 1
Top: 120mm x 1

there the spec for my case also as least as possible money as i would prefer to spend more on a cpu cooler ,also i would prefer them to be as quiet as possible but making sure they actually keep my system cooler
