I've put some parts together after researching a bit (link above), and want to know if this will run arma 3 at super high fps, and whether this will be good for video editing aswell.

Also I'm stuck between choosing the z97 gaming 7, or gaming 5 motherboard.

Perhaps a little more expensive case with more fans is better. As for the cm 212 the other coolers are better because they have more mass so they can absorb more heat. The dark rock is already installed on a friend's pc with 8350 which is a 125w cpu and the temperature is 37C at idle and roughly 60C at gaming and prime 95. I won't say more the choise is yours. Just keep in mind that hyper 212 evo is a good cooler for most cpus. 4790k is not an ordinary one.

Yes it is a very nice build for gaming and video editing. I would choose gaming 7 the one you have already choose but I would change the cooler. I don't want to have this beast under that cooler. There are other coolers relatively low in price with much better performance.

Hey, thanks Antonis,

Could you possibly justify why you would choose the gaming 7 over the gaming 5?
Also could you suggest another cooler, as I can't see what's the problem with the cooler master 212,

The differences are not big but in this side by side comparison you can see gaming 7 has a controller that controlls 2 more sata ports designed for raid. Apart from that gaming 7 is newer and the cost is very close. Actually it is the same board with some improvements and since the cost is almost the same I would choose gaming 7. As for the cooler mind that 4790k is a beast at 4GHz and this cooler is quite basic. I suggest you to take a look on these:

My opinion: Be quite dark rock

How can I know the quite dark rock will fit in with my case etc.

Also with my case, will I need to buy/add any extra fans?

Yes this case is a litle small for such big cooler but hyper 212 evo is higher than corsairs limit to cooler height too. We need to look for either a shorter cooler but good enough to cool the cpu or choose a bigger case.

Will this case work? How many other fans will I need?

Yes this will work fine. The max cpu cooler support is 192mm so you can fit any cooler you want. What I see is that it comes with a 120mm fan in front. You definatelly will need to install a rear 120mm fan for exhaust. So you have to buy one 120mm for the back and you will be ok. Now if you want additional cooling you can install an other at the bottom and two more on the top. But first install one 120mm in the rear and you will see if you want more.

But after I buy and install these fans, would it be worth just buying a case for £20 more like the corsair c70?

Also, could you show me some cooling results to show these fans are particularly more efficient at cooling than the cm 212
