Is there any site that advise on good players to buy etc on fm2005 , or
maybe some can post here . I ve done a search on google but nowt much

There have been a few mentioned posts in this group over the past few
months, look at threads from 'The Brailian man' from the top of my head:

GK: Lee Camp - Derby County (My goalie for my Chelsea squad)

Plenty more I can not remember at the moment, try looking on the forums at
www.sigames.com I think they have a section in the forums for players.

the forums seem pretty weak for players, all they seem to do is state the
obvious rather than reveal some real gems.

I've been peeking at the databse with FM Scout on a couple of different
new games, and some of these "gems" seem totally random.

While usual suspects already noted in this thread are pretty consistent,
there were several players in one game I started rated with a potential
ability of 190+ that in the next game had potential abilities lower than
100.

This should add a little less inevitability to new games once you've
already seen who comes good in an older game.

Its because they have changed the random potential abilty instead of having
just 0, -1, -2, we know have -10 to 0. Where a -10 person will have the most
chance of being generated with 190+ potential (depending on age, club rep
etc..) there's still a small chance they will have a lower potential (~150).
Same with a -1 player they'd typically have a potential of say 100, but with
a very small chance of having a higher potential of say 170. Though from
experience a potential of -9 can lead to abiltys ranging from 140 - 190
(Reason why some people aren't playing in my AGCM team 🙂 ).

I suppose this does give the game extra longeitvy as you don't always who
the world-class unknown youngster will be.
