So I’m a noob when it comes to PC building. Long story short this PC was a pain in the ass to put together and make it “functional.” A friend of mine came over 2 weeks ago and had to pretty much figure out what was wrong with it. After the monitor finally displayed something from my newly custom built PC, he told me one of the ram sticks did not work so I am resorted to returning it & buying a new one.

Fast forward to when it “was” a working pc that I played games on I wanted to switch out my fan to a new one. Just now the motherboard is telling me my DRAM is lighting up and there is nothing to display on my monitor. Whether I switched out with just using one stick or placing it into a slot or the other the end result is still the same. Not even the rubber eraser on RAM could do the trick let alone taking out the battery (no pin on this motherboard btw) to reset. I am already out of my wits with this.

My question is, what is a good 16 gig ram for my MSI b450 motherboard? I don’t have a clue to what is compatible. Best Buy is the only store I have available and there’s not much selection but just corsair vengeance LPX series 16 gb. Should I go with that for the MoBo linked below?
