I don't care if it's a little older but I'm looking for a racing game where you tweak your car, buy better parts, unlock new cars by winning races, etc. Kind of like the Gran Turismo series but on PC.

I like games that have heavy tweaking/customization on the car.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Somewhat exhibition style, but the game will take you quite some time to finish.

It's currently the closest you'll get to GT on PC.

You could also try the free Auto Club Revolution: http://autoclubrevolution.com/en/

It is still under development, but it's looking quite promising :p

I think nothing beats NFS Porsche Unleashed or Porsche 2000 (US and international titles). Sadly and old game (2000....doooh!) and only Porsches.
Next one is NFS Underground 2. Lots of cars with different parts.
And I want to mention Juiced (1st one)...again an old game and terrible with a good wheel (extreme deadzone, which good wheels don't need it). But the gameplay is the best I've had....It breaks the car unlocking and you could have a viper in 4-5 races (money basically). Parts are simplified into 6 (as I remember) categories with 3 levels each. Each level is unlocked after a race in that car. There are also prototype parts which are won through certain races. Oh, and in this game you can really feel car differences (subaru imprezza drives a lot different than mitsubishi lancer).

Exactly. Look no further than Shift2 if you want something comparable to Gran Turismo. Make sure to DL the Handling Mini-Mod for it if you buy it, it makes a huge difference in handling.

Tweaking your car's settings is also very important in this game.

GRID is a fun game, but it is very arcade / shallow compared to Shift2.

You could try and run "Sports car GT", but you could have some trouble running it (graphics etc.), it's an older EA games product
Also "Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed" is a good option.
Anyone have more suggestions?
