I am thinking of setting up a WLAN in my home and would like to find a good source for learning how to best do it. I have a motorola sb5100 cable modem, 2 PC's (soon to be 3) 2 printers, and a scanner and I want to access the internet and the printers from all computers. I would like to do it right the first time if possible.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the fast response. There is a lot of info on the forum, but I am too ignorant at this point to understand most of it - just starting in the LAN world and a lot to learn so I don't screw up too bad. I am sure I will be back here with more questions when I get smart enough to figure out what I don't know.

REplace your existing router with a Router/AP combo or if you want to keep your existing router search for and buy an Access Point, incorrectly and commonly called WAP's. From there just read the directions in the manual. It is not that much different than wired LAN's. Merely the medium changes and some of the configuration. Security predominately. It is not an extremely difficult thing to do to setup a home WLAN.
