Good specs, but games still don't run well?

So I recently built a computer with
striX Z270E Mobo
i5-6700k
GTX 1060 6Gb
And 16 GB of DDR4
But can barely run SWTOR with settings set all the way up. I can't even play Subnautica with settings on low
What's the deal?

OS fresh install?
What the cpu/gpu temp/usage during the game.

It's windows 10, and is very new
How do I monitor the cpu/GPU temp usage during the game?
I'll figure out if it's connected to the GPU thingy, but if it is, then what?
