Hi all! I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W520. I've had it for a few years and she still works very well. The only thing is the hard drive is slowing me down in my daily development work. I was thinking of upgrading the drive to an SSD. What is a good drive for this laptop? Has anyone experienced upgrading it to use an SSD?

Thanks!

Hello!

I have a desktop PC and I used to use a HDD and I upgraded to a Samsung 850 EVO which is a fantastic SSD. It's improved my load times and boot times so much, I would never want to go back! It also is the right size for laptops too which allows you to put it into your Lenovo W520.

So I would definitely recommend Samsung, but there are some other good SSD brands such as Kingston and Corsair.

Here is an Amazon link to the Samsung 850 EVO which I mentioned earlier: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-inch-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B00P736UEU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1514886678&sr=8-2&keywords=850+EVO
