Good time to upgrade?

Im looking for some advice, I'm currently on a AMD Phenom II X4 940 with Radeon HD 7970
and I'm curious if its a good time to upgrade. Im planning to keep my GPU for now, since i hear the R9 and such is just a rebranded 7900 series anyway.

So im looking at the FX-8350 or the Kaveri A-10 7850 with my current GPU.

Basically this is a gaming rig, and newer titles have not been performing so well, not to mention im looking to be ready for the next gen titles getting ported over in the near future.

And I really don't have the budget to pay the crazy prices Intel fetch, im looking at a 500-600$ budget and i need a new MoBo since i want UEFI and the the mobo isnt compatable with anything above Phenom sadly.

Thanks for any help!

Solution
All the parts are fine and compatible, except the PSU. CX series of Corsair is budget oriented PSU's so not the best. Get the one I linked above or get XFX 550W Pro, either one will be sufficient for you. Good luck.
How about this one ! Since you don't want to replace the GPU, I didn't add one in the list. I also not added RAM, assuming you have that. I included a HDD, a CPU cooler and a case if you need :

Thanks for trying to help, but I did say i couldnt do Intel and more i was asking if it was a good time to upgrade.

If $500 - $600 is the budget for just the CPU & motherboard, then an Intel CPU easily fits within that budget.

If you want to stick with AMD even though you can afford to go with Intel with a $500 - $600 budget, then you want to avoid the A10-7850 because it's CPU processing performance is weaker than that of a FX-8350.

Well I need a new case+PSU in addition to the motherboard and CPU, and also I find Intel to be really overpriced, AMD is more Value. I've been using AMD for years and have not had any problems.

I posted a link earlier with all the components you need , just omitted the GPU, as you already have one, almost in your price range. If you don't want to go with that, then you can always go with your desired combination with AMD CPU and MB and all that you need. But I failed to understand what's bothering you ?

Sorry If I didn't explain, my problem with intel its its very overpriced, also the consoles are using 8 core AMD processors. Perhaps right now Intel might be the best single thread, but between Mantle API and new games likely being built on 8 core AMDs and then ported to PC, AMD in the future is probably going to come out on top.

But anyway, how does this look? Will it work together?
