Hi, i was looking to upgrade my computer and wanted to upgrade my CPU.
I have a Athlon II x2 270 and a Nvidea GTX630 Graphics card.
What could be a good upgrade for the Athlon II x2 270
It would be for games and editing.

Thanks, Conwak

You can't use the FX 8350, it isn't supported. If you live outside the US, you may be able to use the FX 8300.

You can find the list of compatible CPUs here:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3833#dl

If you can find a second hand Phenom 965 or a FX 8120, that's probably the best you can do. If you really want a new CPU, you're going to have to purchase a new motherboard as will.

Solution

Thank you for your help, second question, out of the three you mentioned- FX8300, Phenom 965, FX8120 - What would be the best for my needs?

The 8300, if you can find one.

Looks like the phenom 2 1100t, and 1090t are also supported. They are probably your best bet.

Out of the ones you and bartos have mentioned, what is the best and cheapest option? Im looking for around about £150

Either one. The 965 and the 8120 perform about the same.

Why don't you just wait a month or two and get the extra 50 pounds you need for a new CPU and motherboard. It would be better in the long run. You're only patching the problem. The fix would be replacement. You wouldn't have to replace anything else. Use RAM, PSU etc over again.

Ok Thanks, so say i have £200, what motherboard (bare in mind i have to by the CPU) could i get
