Good Wifi, Poor Lan

So i recently decided to switch to a LAN connection for my PC to stop problems with random disconnects over WiFi. However my LAN connection is actually slower but not in all causes.

For example downloading a game through Steam over WiFi it would download at around 3.5MB/s but a download through LAN would be at around 13MB/s.

Webpages are another story, trying to load speedtest.net takes around 30 seconds for a LAN connection whereas WiFi is almost instantaneous. LAN (once loaded) shows 90-100 Mbps and WiFi around 15-25 Mbps

I've connected my old laptop via LAN with the same cables etc. and it has no problems.

I've recently done a fresh install of windows and had wiped all my drives and that made no difference.

I've looked online for solutions already and have changed a few settings such as i set "speed and Duplex" to 1 Gbps.

Pc Specs:

Cpu: I7 7700k at 4.5GHz
Ram: 16Gb
Mobo: Asus Strix z270e
Running Windows 10

Tried Chrome and Edge both load slowly.

I'm not sure what else to check.

Any help would be appreciated.

Use Resource Monitor to observe what your system is doing.

Look at everything monitored but start with the Network tab and its' four categories.

First run your PC without doing anything.

Just watch at first.

Let the system stabilize and then do downloads, visit webpages, etc..

Be sure to only do one thing at a time and watch carefully.

The purpose is to identify some process, connection, activity etc. slowing your system.

Do not immediately react or overact. Look for a consistent pattern that narrows down to some particular, replicable culprit.

Once you have the culprit identified the next step will be to focus on the whats' and whys'.
