I am doing my first workstation build for a friend (not my first build, just first workstation). They chose a 3960X CPU and were looking at the RTX4000 and RTX5000. They are also looking at the current AMD cards, maily the WX7100. 8 to 16gigs of VRAM should do them just fine. Is there any reason to get the RTX cards right now (budget isn't really an issue) or should we go with the tried and true P4000 or P5000? The raytracing tech isn't necessary for my friend right now but they might want it in 2 years or so. Workstations are still new to me so I appreciate the help. Don't worry, I got the nice samsung ECC ram, lolz. Please and thank you!!

Why spend the money on the RTX series if the IPC isn't that much better for workstation tasks if the P4000 or P5000 can do the job just fine. I don't know. that's why I'm here.
