Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. For the past month, every time I open Google on Mozilla Firefox on my PC, I get a message saying, "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network," and it asks me to complete a CAPTCHA.

I’ve tried clearing my cache and cookies, using a different browser like Chrome, running a full virus scan on my PC, and resetting my router, but I still can't access Google without being interrupted by CAPTCHA prompts.

I also connected to my PC from a different network while traveling, and the issue persisted, which leads me to believe the problem is with my PC, not the network.

Is there a way to resolve this, or do I need to reinstall my OS?

Thanks

Definitely perform a virus scan, just in case, but...
This has been happening to me for over a year. I use Brave search in Firefox instead. It's most likely because you have some browser settings that resist fingerprinting and/or you have JavaScript disabled.

Google calls it 'unusual traffic', which is completely false and misleading. Instead, it's because Google can't gather the metadata they want to, from your browser/computer, when you send them a search, so they make you do the CAPTCHA cha-cha-cha dance.

Start by looking in Task Manager > Startup and Task Scheduler.

There may be some process running in the background that may be the root cause.

Either launched at startup or later triggered via Task Scheduler.

Another place to look is Reliability History/Monitor. You may be able to identify some event or action that occurs just before or at the time that the Captcha's present.

Key is to discover some process that is associated with the Captcha's.
