Question Google Chrome Going Crazy?!

Hi all,

A single instance, with a single tab open, on the Chrome homepage, is showing as 20+ incidences of chrome simultaneously in task manager. I thought it was malware, but have reinstalled with no luck.

Having trouble posting, but here's a screenshot. Sub 20, but 500mb?! and it's gone up to 750...

update: on Chrome's own task manager I have lots of suspicious looking subframes listed. about 20 of them. 'smartadserver' 'pubmatic' etc
