Google chrome keeps freezing and has to be crashed

Hello,

I am after help with Google Chrome - it keeps freezing up on me, and the only remedy seems to be to crash the program and re-open it. It mainly happens when I'm closing a tab, the small x remains with the red circle around it after I've clicked on it and the whole program freezes up.

It happens about 5 or 6 times a day at the moment. I've tried re-installing it, does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, switch to Firefox. That's not sarcasm, it's a serious suggestion. I had to do that last week (Chrome wouldn't even start and that was on both my PCs on the same day). Actually, I'm glad I switched 'cos Firefox has now evolved in to a very competent browser since I last used it.

I think I, for another, might do that,
This crashing is driving me nuts...Chrome used to be extremely stable. What happened. Apparently the crashing commonly occurs when closing an open tab by clicking the X.
Instead, they say..., use ctrl-w to close the open tab.
What a solution!
