Google Chrome keeps going back to the previous page

Hello. Ever since I downloaded Open Office, suddenly whenever I open up my Google Chrome browser, it goes to whatever the previous page was that I had it opened to when I used and closed it the last time. I looked on my settings on google Chrome and I have it set to always open with google.com. Can anyone help me with this, please?

Open Google chrome, go to Settings, 2nd section should be about the starting page - change it from "Continue previous session" to w/e you like - New tab or specific site

But that's what I mean, it is already set on "Open a specific page" and the only thing there is google.com --but it still keeps acting as if I have it set on "Continue where you left off".

well I just solved it, I think. What I did is I went to the settings and I deleted the google.com thing, Then I re-entered it again. It seems to work right now

Did you downloaded the installer from Sourceforge site or you were redirected?
Check if OO installer didnt "accidently" dropped something extra when you installed it. Check for extensions in GC and toolbars installed at "add/remove programs" and if you see nothing then try resetting it (export bookmarks 1st)
Also you might need to change it to tab and then back to google to see if it will make any difference

It doesn't seem to have added anything. I downloaded open office from some page that said sourceforge. I just tried deleting the google page address from the settings and then re-adding it and now it appears to be back to normal and working fine

I guess that I spoke too soon. Now it is back to doing it again! I really get tired of deleting and reinstalling google Chrome all the time.

Run AdwCleaner and after that CCleaner (fix registry errors) to be sure everything is fine

The Adaware seems to have removed something from my google chrome and it is working right now thanks again!
