Google Chrome on Windows 7 is failing to display any pages.

I have Chrome on my Windows 7 desktop, and it seems to be unable to display anything. The browser window is responsive, so I can go into the menu and try to select History, Downloads, Settings etc, or type a URL into the address bar. But at that point it just sits there saying 'Loading...', and nothing further happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome several times, on one occasion deleting the Chrome folder from AppData\Local\Google before reinstalling, but it makes no difference.

It was working a few weeks ago. Since then I have installed new versions of iTunes, iCloud and Java.

Any ideas??

Solution
First of all I would uninstall Java as this creates a back door for hackers (I'm assuming that you do not do JAVA programming of course)

Second, I would check for malware and remove any that you find. Follow this guide: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-clean-infected-computer.htm#Clean_Computer_With_CCE_And_TDSSKiller

FInally, I would repair all your system files and network problems with Windows Repair Tool: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/tweaking_com_windows_repair.html
