Google Chrome Opens another Chrome

Hi,
Recently I just uninstalled and reinstalled google chrome because of a virus, I removed the virus and my computer is fine. I signed back into chrome and all, everything was working but when i clicked on the icon in the task bar it opened another chrome and not that one. And reason why this is annoying is because the other google chrome that opened i can't pin to the task bar. This has happened to me before but i can't remember how to fix it.
