Google Chrome opens new tabs randomly, how can I remove this virus?

Okay, this has been happening to me for a while now. I've used many different anti-virus programs to try and remove this virus thats causing my google chrome to open new tabs randomly, up to 10 sometimes, and sometimes it just spams me with new tabs. I hope someone knows how to fix this. Any help and answer from anyone is very much appreciated!

What leads you to believe it is a virus doing this? Is it a blank tab or does it take you to websites that you didn't click on?

Might the new tab coincide with you pressing T on the keyboard?

some much for the intermittant CTRL key theory.
THis Article might help. Ive had to reset Chrome more then a few times here at work but not for opening new blank tabs.
