My power went out a few days ago while google chrome was open. When I turned my PC back on and started Chrome nothing works. I can't load the starting screen, any webpage, or even settings. I've tried reinstalling it but nothing has worked so far.

After a while of chrome being open, a message box open and tells me the page is unresponsive (which isn't even a page, just and infinite loading white tab) and asks to wait or kill it. If I click kill, nothing happens, if I click wait, nothing happens.

I've heard that hard drives can be destroyed/damaged after power outages

Please help, thanks.

Solution
Try this. Start an administrator command prompt and issue this command: sfc /scannow .

As alternatives you could try Internet Explorer and/or Firefox.

Good luck.
Is it just Chrome that doesn't work? If so, uninstall Chrome and use Internet Explorer to download a fresh copy from Google.com/chrome. To check your hard drive, start File Explorer, right-click C:, and click Properties. Then click the Tools tab and click the Check button.
I use a UPS (aka battery backup) to help with power outages. They will run your computer for a few minutes on the battery, and automatically shut your computer down (via a USB cable and Windows driver) before the battery runs down if need be.

Good luck.

I uninstalled and reinstalled about 3 times with no luck. I scanned my disk and it says there are no errors. Chrome opens, but it shows this the whole time.
