News Google creating an AI agent to use your PC on your behalf, says report

Only an idiot would allow that onto their PC. Only the King of Idiots would think it was a good idea in the first place to even develop it. But here we have the God of Idiots doing just that. I guess they don't understand that their security is about as effective as a screen door on a submarine.

does it take responsibility for legal purpose?
In contrast to everyone else in this thread, I would consider running this on a clean throwaway system dedicated for that purpose.

The one thing you would want to watch out for is it making undesirable queries or posts with your IP. You could give yourself some cover by running everything through a VPN or Tor.

It is obvious what this is for.

Google wants to cut out the consumer middle man. Just give Google your credit card number, and Google will order products on your behalf using your credit card.

What an efficient way to generate advertising revenue. The AI has your C.C. number, waits to see an advertisement that's popped up in your browser that it knows Google will get paid for, then makes the purchase. So it can then charge more money from that very advertiser.

This is genuinely a slick program. To Google's benefit, of course.

There is only 1 thing I hope AI processing does on our CPUs. Make the side characters on games say more than 1 or 2 lines.

Minimum game requirement: Normal CPU.
Recommended game requirement: AI CPU for better side character speech.

Just more Pie In The Sky thinking. Forget Artificial Intelligence, how about some executive intelligence? I'm tired of mismanaged corporations manipulating us customers and our markets rather than offering affordable quality products and services. If these overpaid executives spent as much time doing good as bad, we'd all be much better off.

The idea of AI personal agents has been in science fiction for decades, I'm surprised it's taken this long, I fiddled with it a bit in the 1980s, but there wasn't even a WWW back then, nor general use of the Internet. There were some "workflow" systems designed for corporate users, but the initial reception was extremely negative.

I think the description here is very off-putting, misleading. Something like this should be achievable now, and it won't be quite as clunky as this article made it sound.

You guys do understand that this has been a HUGE trick played by a guy named AL.

Your CPU now has AL cores! AL's name will randomly show up while your using Windows now. If you ever see that NPC named AL in the game, take him out!
