Because so much information on the web is out of date these and some of it contradictory, I thought I'd post a current set of questions in hopes of clarifying issues I'm struggling with.
I have several email accounts set up under the @gmail.com domain. From looking at my email client's (Thunderbird's) saved passwords, I think each gmail account has a different password in the TB saved PW area. I prefer to use TB over google for sending and receiving reaading email. (OK, I have trust issues; sue me.) Is it possible that TB has these PWs and that they are not used? If so, how does my ISP's mail server deal with the issue of validation? Ignore it because the messages are not in their domain? Several web pages I've read and videos I've watched said that all gmail accounts use the same password and that it is the same as the Google account password. Is this true?
Also, it seems that Google 'sees' my emails that have my ISP's domain name appended. I don't recall having set it up this way, but it was so long ago I've probably forgotten about. While I enjoy the fact that a change of ISP doesn't require changes to gmail addressing, I don't want want Google to see any messages sent to or from my ISP email accounts. To be clear, I want the email accounts I have at my ISP with their domain name appended to be completely independent of Google. How does google get those messages routed to their servers?
As for the gmail accounts (I have several I use for different purposes), I would like to be able to use separate passwords for each account. Is that possible?
Now that I've discovered that Google is seeing all my ISP account email, what can I do to undo this so that they are not seen by Google? Related to this is the question of how google mail servers can 'see' messages with a different domain name in the address, as mentioned above.
Finally, if it turns out that IF Google does allow separate passwords for separate gmail accounts, how can they be changed when one feels the need without affecting other gmail account passwords or the Google account PW?
TIA
