[SOLVED] google hangouts max out CPU utilization

when ever i join a google hangouts video call, my CPU utilization maxes out on all 6 cores at 100%. granted i have an older system, but i have an AMD FX-6200 six-core CPU, an AMD Radeon HD 7570 graphics card (3 monitors), and 10GB of memory. anybody have any thoughts?

I'm assuming you are using hangouts under google chrome? If that is the case it's possible GPU hardware acceleration is turned off - that would force your machine to decode the video on the cpu which would result in high usage....
