Google Nest First Generation

I have this hooked up in my Living room and all is well. I have tried to get Google to answer this question, but i am not having any luck, so i hope i can get it here. I would like to move it to my bedroom and use it mostly as a clock. Can someone tell me how this is done besides unplugging it and replug it? Will the success of using it depend on my wifi status? Is there anything i need to 'ask' google Nest?
