If the remote doesn't have the direct connect buttons for popular apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Sling, like my Roku Ultra has, this would be a huge turnoff for me.

I could see that being a deficiency, yes. Personally, I'd rather a remote control not have those buttons, as they always feel like advertising, especially when I don't use a service it gives a button for.
