Just visited my local supermarket and the cost for a Goose is £35, would
rather shoot my own but time is running out. Anyone got a Goose or 2 to sell
near Liverpool?

I was talking to a good friend of mine (also my butcher)
while I was there he had 2 geese delivered
I was shocked at the price...
£78.00 for 2 geese

I said "I know where there's a dozen in a field, I could have got you 2 for
the cost of 2 pellets" 🙂
His wife said "How did I know you were gonna say that?"

Hello All,
Just to let you know, it's illegal to sell wild geese but then again it's
not illegal to charge for butchering them :O)

Can't quote you chapter and verse but I bet that's illegal too.
You should know that everything is illegal under Tony's
government, and if it isn't it is only permitted under licence.

When I was based in Scotland a shot wild goose was free but a bottle of whiskey
was mandatory for preparing them, £40 seems a rather expensive whiskey, but
then the price of cartridges has gone up, especially for us southerners having
to pay for bismuth, cheers, Norman.

I was recently in the co-op in Tain and they were asking £44.00 for an
oven-ready free range goose. I had a good look, but couldn't find the
hallmark.

I gave away about a dozen freshly-shot greylag last week, but all were
young birds. Old birds can sometimes be a real disappointment to those
that receive them.
