[SOLVED] Got a New HDD delivered and the corner of the box it was shipped in was crushed...

The HDD itself seems fine and was packaged in foam. Could a hard impact or slowly crushed box hurt an HDD?

Sure.

Could means is it possible.

It could be dead even if apparently no damage to the box.

Up to you to decide what to do.

A hdd is pretty tough when it's powered off and the heads are in the parked position.

The only way you will know it's status is to plug it in and test it.
