my new pc spec is this:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 960T (2.9GHz)
Processor Core: Quad-Core
Memory: 8GB DDR3 (PC3-10600)
Max Memory: 16GB
Memory Slots: 4 (2 available)
Graphics: ATI Radeon 4200 (2943MB shared)
Hard Drive: 1.5TB SATA (5400rpm)
Optical Drive: SuperMulti DVDąRW
Audio Chipset: Integrated ALC888S-VD
Sound: 8-Channel
Network: 10/100Mbps BaseT
Wireless: 802.11b/g/n
the PC is an HP pavilion p7.
i run a 28" monitor with 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA)
I'm wondering if the Radeon HD 5770 will be a worthwhile upgrade, or if it would be overkill? I'm so far removed from computers that I've lost touch with what runs with what. I want to be able to play Skyrim when it comes out. even with the current integrated GPU it runs oblivion, not very well but still runs it. I also have a spare 650w power supply from my last computer, I know that would need to be upgraded. thanks for any help, and patience with a newb question. i got the graphics card from the October article of best cars for the money, but I'm open to suggestions. i would like to spend under $150.
