I just got the EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 8GB FTW DT on sale and after installing everything runs smoothly.

The problem is that when i play some games, I do not know the reason, my computer turns off. I can play For Honor just fine, but I can't play Dark Souls 3 or Civilization 6 for more than 5 minutes before it turns off.

I was thinking it was overheating or the power supply was not enough for it. I am getting at my wits end on this,

My computer specs are:
MB: Asus M5A97 LE r2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8150
RAM: 21GB (3X8GB)
PSU: Corsair CS650M

I agree with SR71. That board likely cant take the demands of the card and it is shutting down as a means of protection. How good is the air circulation in that case?

Did you have to do a BIOS update to run the card? I have an MSI 990FX based card and recently bought a 1080 as well (but one from MSI) and it required me to do the update since it wouldn't even see it. I'm not saying that is the problem with yours, but I would also say checking into it can't hurt.
