Okay, it's been a few weeks without a computer, so now got myself a new one. After taking a few things into consideration, i built myself a fairly cheap system.

Intel 2.4C 800FSB (got off of ebay for 107 dollars getting Prescott D0 in June)
Abit IC7 Max3 (Future upgrade to Prescott D0)
2x512 PC3200 Hynix memory (Special offer for about 130 dollars)
Asus Geforce4 TI4200 (got for free, planning to get 9800XT when R420 comes out)
WD 36G Raptor HDD (still got my 2x120G Seagate 7200.7 SATA hdds)
Liteon DVDR, Liteon DVDRW
Enermax 460watt psu

Also got watercooling,
Dtek Procore with 120mm Sunon fan
Eheim 1250 pump
Silverpop Evo 2.0 P4 block
DD Maze 4 GPU block

With the watercooling setup and ready to go, the Ti4200 had crappy TSOP memory so it refuses to go beyond 525 before it starts to artifact, the GPU however with watercooling, and 1.65VAGP, went up to 330mhz. The CPU was interesting, first i pumped vcore up to 1.75, temp was good under 25C, i couldn't believe that the Abit board i got still had the 255FSB issue, flashed the bios, got to 300FSB. Tried to push higher, CPU seemed to be the limiting factor. At 3600mhz, the full load temp was still under 35C, I have my radiator outside of my case, I was happy with 3600mhz at 1.725Vcore, seems stable, still running P95, been going for about 4 hours now. That in total costed me about 1000CAD, so still got another 700, to spend on the CPU/Video.

NEED NEW SYSTEM!

Well, my 3dmarks and Aquamarks are shameful with the TI card, so don't really want to mention them, but for Sisoft Sandra I managed to get 10856/4392/7965 Dhrystone/FPU/SSE2 Memory bandwidth's pretty shameful since using 3:2 Divider, planning to get some heatspreaders on the ram, and a fan above it, so I could push 2.8-3.0 vdimm, maybe I could go 5:4 but I find that highly unlikely for PC3200 ram.

Anyways my 3dmark01 mark is a shameful 15973.

i'm planning to get a new CPU in June, even July, just to make sure the stock of the C0 prescott are depleted, the video card getting it when R420 comes out which would push the price of Radeon 9800 series down. This probably will be my last 32bit system.

I hate my TI4200.

I think i heard that the XT's havnt been selling that well due to the news of the new card coming in a few weeks time so ATI have or will stop producing the 9800XT's as will all manu's soon rather than keep producing them and selling them cheap.

As for your system - nice overclock on that 2.4. Its a shame you cant afford to go the A64 route because @ stock it would have been almost as fast as ur 3.6ghz overclock. My 2.3ghz A64 beats some 4ghz P4's in 3dmark and the UT 2004 demo benchmark. :)

And thats running my memory @ 192mhz - If I could run it 1:1 230mhz then I think I will have a very powerful system that would take a 4.4ghz P4 to match.

Still thats a very nice overclock to 3.6ghz!

I'm just waiting for Prescott, the precious precious Prescott D0, scalable to 4.5Ghz on air. Can't imagine what I could do if i pump 1.6V through it on water.

I hate my TI4200.

Speeduk the only reasly I didn't go for the A64 system is because they don't have good overclocking boards for them. I need something with AGP/PCI lock, so I just may get rid of this system when Nforce3 250 comes out.

I hate my TI4200.

My Precious system:
Athlon XP 2700+
Gigabyte GA-7N400L, nForce2 Ultra400 chipset based
Crucial PC2700 512MB
Sapphire Radeon8500LE
Sound Blaster Audigy

that costs me a lot..so I call it precious system, but it's still cheaper than your "cheap" system
I can't imagine how will your precious system be

MY PRECIOUS?! MY PRECIOUS? My precious would be a Cyrix processor system, with a Matrox video card, and a Samsung harddrive, maybe some Inferior ram as well, cough, I mean infineon.

I hate my TI4200.

Watercooling is an overkill unless you shove 1.9V through the cpu - then it may get hot. Also even without pci lock - most people can go upto 250fsb or 300fsb if you use a 33mhz PCI card to run the hard drive off. And yes sata drives are sensitive to high pci bus.

I got one of the worse overclocking boards for athlon 64 and its doing 230fsb 2.3ghz fine 24.7 like its suppost to do it. If i had an nvidia card that likes high agp bus i would be sat at 240fsb easy........

Get an nf3 150 mobo and with the agp lock + a pci or sata card you should get a nice overclock.......

Speedy take a look at <A HREF="http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product_spec.asp?MPSNo=13&PISNo=266" target="_new">Chaintech</A>'s new beast, using Nforce3 250, has 24bit 7.1 surround sound card included. With actually working AGP/PCI lock, and SATA Raid. According to <A HREF="http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?item=60049" target="_new">Axiontech</A> they're available, but I can't get them in Canada yet, can't wait 'til they're released.

I hate my TI4200.
