Got some FPS lags while watching shows in my tv

Hey I recently bought a new 4k monitor
and sometimes, i display my pc on it (just to watch shows)
here and there i experience some "fps lags" while doing so
p.s - on my pc screen, it is running smoothly

can it be related to the file type? (mp4) or maybe to the refreshing rate?

If you play online games, surley it will lag the hell out of it.
What are your specs?

I am not playing on 4k resolution or the tv at all - i just watch movies and shows via the pc
got GTX 770 and 4770K i7

the shows i download are 720p only

Im actually unsure... but once I tried to stream movie 768p to my tv and play games it gave me a bit lagging, which software do you use for watching .MP4 files?(some can be resource heavy)

Well i did several testing
Tried different streaming program and such, different video files

it seems that if I use a MPC-HC and drag subtitles into it (a feature) it does that problem
i took the same file and ran it with window media player + loaded subs from within - no lag

Trying using VLC or similar, i had couple of issues with MPC but after playing around i make it working 1080p without hogging CPU too much.
