got some questions about a used tv i bought

I Bought a used TV,VIZIO E420I-BO
when I turned it on it only has a dark blue screen and no sound nothing,not sure if the right power cord came with it,posted here before about it but couldn't post pictures needed..the TV says 120V.and the cord says 7A 125V.,could this be the problem why it's not working right?, if anyone can help me out with a possible answer on this I would really appreciate it,thank you,Terri.

You may have to switch inputs.

The TV is very low power(less than 1 amp) so a 7 amp cord is more than enough for it. The 125v is not an issue it is a rating for the wire.

How is everything connected?

A antenna and the power cord that is all that is connected,I have even tried to reset it like customer service said,by unplugging it and pushing and holding the power button on for 30 sec and that didn't help at all,can't factory reset to clear it cause I can't read what the screen says cause it is a dark blue screen..nothing I push on remote control helps,c.s.suggested it might have had a power serge and can't be fixed..

Hello... How Much $$ do ya want to put into it? Typically I get my TV replacement boards from EBAY Parted out and damaged shipping dealers...

There are a lot of screws on the Back cover... carefully place the screen side down on a flat surface, with a cardboard buffer to protect the screen and plastic side... (sometimes removing the stand helps) Remove all the screws from the back (keep track of the sizes and lengths for proper replacement) and simply remove the connectors and replace the Boards and back cover and give it a power test.

I can't afford to fix it,will have to wait and buy a new TV,done with used ones,I paid$100.00 for a TV that doesn't work..

Hello... There are ways to activate the SETUP/BIOS menu by holding a couple buttons while power is applied... check some AV forums for which button those are for VISIO models... sometimes you can invoke another level of Reset, IF you can get to that screen.

Yes TV's are considered a throw away item these Days... But you may be $30+SH away from getting this one working now... B /

There are no other Button's on TV just a power button,nothing else..

So even when you press the power button after the tv is on, you do not get the input menu? This could at least show the screen can display an image.

Too many things can cause a TV to fail. For the price of them, Used is not always a good option.

Hello... I have no VISIO TV experience yet... there are always secret ways in to the service menu... Did you buy a used TV without seeing it Working? B O
Can you confront them or get your $$$ back?
