Got thermal paste on my motherboard

So I was taking my CPU out of my case since I was going to send it back for a new one. I lifted the silver cover that holds the CPU and some thermal paste got on the motherboard. It wasn't a lot of paste but will it break my motherboard? And when I get a new CPU, will my pc work after it was wiped off?

I would like to note that the computer and PSU wasn't on, I wiped it about 45 seconds after it happened, and no paste got underneath the CPU or on the motherboard pins.

It's probably fine. You might want to give the area a light wipe with a slight amount of isopropyl alcohol on a clean cloth or an alcohol wiping pad like what comes in those little disposable packets you see in first aid kits, but it's probably fine regardless. Sounds like it was a very small amount and is probably a non-issue.

I already wiped it off with out the isopropyl alcohol. Will it still be ok?

what paste was it? (i.e arctic silver 5)

Thermaltake TG-7
