Got two choices, and need some help

For my new C2D build, I narrowed down my choices to 2. Gskill or Patriot. My friend recommended me the Gskill for its good overclocking potential and low timings. I then saw the DDR800 review here and saw the Patriot came out on top. Now I need to select one. Price is not a factor since they are very close. One thing I need to know is if either of these will boot up at 1.8v on the basic Intel 965 motherboard I got with the Intel Purchase Program. I read on another thread that the Patriot ram will, but I want to make sure before I buy. The Intel board is temporary, I will be buying a DS3 soon. Please help!

Rest of build:
e6300
corsair 620w HX
etc

Thanks

I am pretty sure these modules will boot up on 1.8V for the 965 motherboard...but u will probably not be able to get the 4-4-4-12 latency, as these are specified at 2.2V. The modules will probably boot up at 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V.

But in the rare chance they don't boot, u can always boot up with different ram, change the voltage, and then put in the modules.

I'm using G.Skill DDR2 800 and it OC with my E6600 fine. It works from 1.8 to 2.0 so, there was no problem there either. I haven't used the patriot so I can't recommended it.

thanks for the replies.

anyone else know for sure if either of these will boot up at 1.8? id really like to order soon so i can start my build already.

I've actually got the G.SKill ram myself with a DS3 motherboard.
Unfortunately I can't answer your question because the ram voltage setting
can only be at Normal and up (+0.1, +0.2 etc...), but I can tell you that
the G.Skill ram does boot up with the DS3. The normal settings give me a reading
of ~1.94 so 2.0V on speedfan.

And with the sticks that I currently have, I'm running a E4300 @ 2.8Ghz
350X8 3-3-3-5 @2.1V, nice ram IMO.
