With the overhead and limited performance of TB for eGPU it definitely seems like something better is in order. OCuLink is a great start and given that SlimSAS cables already go up to PCIe 4.0 x8 I could see OCuLink expanding accordingly. PCIe 4.0 x8 seems like it would be a completely reasonable amount of bandwidth for eGPU purposes.
