GPT format so annoying

Every time that I want to reinstall windows 8.1 or 10 I can't just because it says something about GPT format, so my only way to do a clean installation is deleting everything from my HDD (I'm not using an SSD yet) and it pisses me off because my disk has different partitions (Windows, games and programas, tv series etc) and this computer won't let me clean the windows partition.

Can I do something about that right now without reinstalling every program/games again? Also I heard something about the motherboard, which is using this kind of format instead of windows itself. is this true? if so, I should be able to change it from the BIOS I guess.

MBR formatted disks have a limit of 4 partitions, 3 of which are used by Windows 8/10 (boot, OS, recovery). The last partition can be a primary if you only want one extra partition. Or extended + logical if you want more than one extra partition. Since you can't transition between primary and logical, using MBR for these modern OSes severely limits your future flexibility.

MBR is also limited to a max partition size of 2 TB.

To get around these limitations, you must use GPT. Normally you must delete every partition on the drive before you can convert it from MBR to GPT. But there are tools which claim to be able to convert the drive without wiping your data. I have not tried them so I cannot vouch for their effectiveness or...
