I've googled for the last 5 hours with no resolution. My issue is when I close chrome, internet explorer or opera my gpu goes to 100 and back down. It does it with or without my gpu installed. It does with or without and active internet connection. I have clean installed win 10. I have ran gpu shark and system process too. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Am I being paranoid? is this normal? I can post screenshots or anything else. I really appreciate anyone who can help. Thank you

does it just spike and go back? what GPU do you have?

I don't understand where its a problem unless it makes the computer unusable or higher power draw or slower etc...

Yes it just spike and goes back. I have titan x maxwell. But it does it without the card also. I can now recreate the problem by doing a couple of other things like Right clicking and going to intel graphics settings and then clicking "options and support" then " Preferences" then if I exist it spikes.

end of the day it dosent matter. computer works fine. probally a glitch in the drivers. NVidia drivers are known to have lots of weird bugs like that.

How does the GPU (graphics card) go to 100% when the GPU is not installed? Are you talking about CPU usage? If it's CPU then that's normal to have short bursts to 100% usage especially on weaker processors. Anything can cause that like new Windows or background processes.
