GPU and CPU usage running down as the game goes on ( GTA V )

Hello, someone can pls tell me what to do in this situation? I have MSI GTX 970 Gaming card ~1200 MHz, 8 GB RAM and i5-4670k 3.40 GHz, GTA V is the only game where i have this issue. I mean, it's starts well, with all the changes i made ( turn off FXAA, MSAA etc. ), and it's seems to be working, but like for a minute or two( 60 FPS ), and then i get FPS drops ( 15-30+) and they look like freezes. My GPU and CPU usage are fine and then it's like my GPU forgets that i'm playing something 😀 What can i do else in this situation? My drivers are fresh-new.

Also had set all the priority to this game, including Nvidia Control Panel

Resolution? How much is the usage of the VRAM on the game?

1920x1080, 2000~ with 60 FPS, And 1600-1800~ when the lags start going :\

What are your CPU and GPU temps? Have you optimized your drive(s) recently? Your VRAM usage seems strange, but in no way are you hitting that 3.5GB threshold.

Also, are you running out of RAM? There are times when multiple sticks are installed, where a bad slot will still detect that you have, say, a 4GB stick in there, but isn't able to use any of it. If you have 2x2GB and a single 4GB adding up to 8GB, and only one of the 2GB sticks is being utilized, that could be a source of the problem.

I have only one stick - 8 GB. CPU reached max - 60 degrees, GPU - 57. I have updated all the drivers from nvidia, and i also try to optimize my games with GeForce Experience, it usually worked, helped in some ways, not here, sadly

I bought GTX 970 not a long ago, i had GTX 650 and i never had this kind of issues. It was kinda stable to 30 fps, and if it was laggin - i knew, that this is my GPU, whitch had only 1GB.

GeForce Experience can't help you if your HDD is horribly fragmented, or if your SSD hasn't been trimmed in the past few weeks. Here's a couple things I want you to try:

1.) Control Panel > System and Security > Defragment and optimize your drives. Optimize all of them. Reboot.
2.) Download, install, and run CCleaner. Run the regular cleaner (the first option) and the registry cleaner (the second option). Reboot.
3.) Open resource monitor, open the memory tab, and keep an eye on the hard faults/sec chart after the game has finished loading you into the world (play on windowed mode).
3.) Ignore geforce experience, and set GTAV to the lowest preset possible, and play around in game. Does the fps decay over time?
4.) Put back the geforce experience settings, and play around in game some more. Does the fps decay over time again?

I actually see i slight deference with switching ALL setting to LOW, but my textures are not existing sometimes, i mean like i just drive - and they are not there yet 😀 When it's all on high, nothing like that happens. It's so inconsistent, earlier on the day i entered the game and everything was ok, and now, i just lauched the game, to see how all goes now - 1 min and i get freeze, actually after i ALT+tabed. I will try to do Memory Test later, will see how that goes.

This sounds like either:
a.) very fragmented storage
b.) bad memory stick or slot
c.) bad VRAM or weird deformity with your graphics card

If just driving is moving you fast enough so that the textures can't load in fast enough, there is the possibility that your game files are borked as well. Usually, the game will attempt to load the lowest resolution textures and meshes as fast as possible, and progressively load in the higher res textures as it sees fit. If you're getting nothing at all after a while, that means something isn't reading and/or writing fast enough, leaving you with the three possibilities above. Verify your game files, or reinstall the game, to rule out a corrupted game installation as the cause.

Actually i figured out what's making this freezes, i noticed that when i play, my ram is in usage almost like full, 7.5 GB from 8 available. This due to Chrome taking way to much and skype 🙁 I turned them off and i was able to play.

Chrome is really good at ruining performance in two ways: hogging ram, and caching the crap out of everything. Doing nothing but browsing facebook and youtube for a day can easily create a cache file in excess of 500mb. If you want to run a browser while gaming, I recommend firefox (safari is the best when it comes to optimization, but I hate the UI).

Skype is also like that. You're better off trying to use teamspeak or ventrillo or mumble or something, which uses a lot less resources while gaming. If you run Skype, unless you have a crazy powerful CPU, lots of RAM, and a large internet bandwidth with really good upstream, good luck running anything else with it.

You've got a 4670k. I'm sure you can squeeze a tad more performance out of it with a mild to moderate overclock if it so tickles your fancy.
