GPU and memory clock dropping when i'm in games.

Hey community! I have a laptop, an ASUS G551JW, which is 5 months old. After a lot of time spent on trying to find the problem, i finally found it: While in-game, GPU and memory MHz are dropping randomly, from 1097(for example) to 300-500. Sometimes for several seconds, sometimes for 1 second. My drivers are up to date, no power saving, all on high performance. GPU temp is not too high,(maximum 75 in-game). I have an external cooler too. Thank you !

It's a power saving feature, the laptop uses the integrated graphics under normal use and the 960M only kicks in as graphics demand dictates, so it idles until needed then ramps up when needed.

What should i read there? it's only information about Nvidia Optimus. Btw , thank you for the answer !

It just explains what I said, the Nvidia laptop cards are designed to ramp up and down based on demand.

its a faulty product, search the interweb , that asus model the gpu will throttle down when it reach 74degrees, doesnt have anything to do with optimus or whatever, you could try to complain to asus,..
