Question GPU and Mobo compatibility

So I have H61M-VS mobo, with Xeon 1245V2 processor, and EVGA 430W 80+ PSU, few days ago I tried an rx460 gpu on it, but when I connected the GPU, the PC stopped giving me display on turning on. When I checked on google, it said it's incompatible with my mobo, is that why it wasnt giving me display? If so please explain to me how it works? Secondly I am thinking of buying Rx 470 4gb or r9 380 4gb, will that be compatible with my MOBO? And will it work fine and not give me the display error?

The product page says it has UEFI BIOS (with the RX series GPUs need)....not sure what's going on.

Was there a graphics card in the computer prior to the RX460?

Nope, this was the first time I was connecting a Gpu to it.

Check in the BIOS for GPU boot mode then. Set it to PCI Express. Page 41

Also, assuming you've connected the monitor cable(s) to the RX460 and not the mobo rear IO panel.
