GPU at 95 degrees C under load, MSI kombustor, is this normal?

I got an open box-condition MSI GeForce GTX 960 4GB OC video card from the shop. I ran msi afterburner and used the kombustor stress test. It ran for about 10 minutes and the temperature got to 95 degrees Celsius and the clock speed had slowed down to 400 MHz. I have not adjusted the power input or even attempted to overclock the card. Is this a normal temperature? If not should I replace my card? Thanks

this is not at all normal... you have airflow or GPU cooler issues of some kind there.

I agree with Mark RM. You have some sort of air flow or your heatsink is not installed correctly.

You're basically 5 C +/- away from the GPU driver shutting down your PC. It's not dangerous to the GPU itself in any way shape or form, but it does and should affect performance, considering throttling is an issue with GPU's.

Thank you all. Should I replace my video card with a new version of the same thing or should I get a different model GTX 960? If so which one? Thanks
