I have a budget of $319 for a gpu plz suggest places to get one preferably in canberra but if i can get it shipped cheaply that is ok.

Your cheapest local option would be MSY. You place on order on their website (http://www.msy.com.au/home.php) - and pick up from their store in Fyshwick.
For your budget you'd be looking at either a GTX 760 or R9 280, they trade blows depending on the game.

If you can stretch a little budget wise, pccasegear have a special on a 280X for $329+$15 shipping to the ACT (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=25553). That's a decent step up in performance, but does go $25 over budget.

MSY is great, but PC Case Gear also offer some good specials sometimes.

a Gigabyte R9 280 3GB Windforce REV 2.0 (Only as 1.0 coolers are rubbish), is your best option for your budget.

I was pretty excited when I first saw this news, but whenever I've checked specific items it just "out of stock" (I'm checked about 30 items now over a couple of different days and have yet to find an item in stock). I don't know whether I'm looking in the wrong place. With a few exceptions the prices don't seem to be significantly better than we can do locally anyway. It's definitely worth keeping an eye on, but not exactly ground breaking for us Australians just yet!

they could be building inventory. sometimes they list things ( new things ) here in the states before they are actually ready for sale. it gives the customer something to look at ( get to see the up coming inventory ).
