GPU Between gtx 970 and 960

Hey guys, I have a build made already ( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RyCcvK ), but it's a little too expensive, and I really don't need a gpu that's that good. I feel like the gtx 960 is a little bit underpowered, though. Do you guys know a good GPU that is somewhere in between those 2?

I agree with cin19's answer(good one). I just purchased the Sapphire R9 280x 3GB Dual-x and man, it runs all my games on high-to ultra settings. And with that extra Gb of VRAM available( versus the 2gb GTX 960), you can't go wrong.
