Hi ,I was thinking of cross flashing my Zotac GTX 1650 Super with the Bios of Asus GTX 1650 Super 4 GB (TUF Gaming OC) with has a Power Limit: 120.0 W as opposed to the Zotac which has a Power Limit: 100.0 W

Both use 6 pin and have 1x DVI-D 1x DisplayPort 1x HDMI

You can see the links for specifitacions on the card here -

I know i may ask a challenging question but would the cross bios flash be possible between these two same cards yet different in some aspect as with a power limit of 120W on the Asus i could squeeze a bit more Overclock on the Zotac than i am able to now i think

This is why i ask you experts who know a thing or two about this so i dont go about making some mistake and end up regretting

Thanks and very eager to hear back

It is possible but there is risk involved.

First there is the risk of something going wrong in the flash and ending bricking the card. There are some ways to come back from that but there is no guarantee.

Then you have the issue of thermals. You need a more aggressive fan curve and good airflow if you raise the wattage.

You also have the issue that the end result is really not worth the risk. You will mostly get up to 7-8 fps difference of you are lucky (depending on the game engine of course and what kind of CPU you have).

On another note, what is your exact make and model of your PSU?

Hey ,thanks for the reply

So i understand the risk of course and understand unbricking a card can be a tiresome and risky thing

I can go around creating a agressive fan curve and keep temps at acceptable levels with a decent good air flow (i removed the side glass on my Cabinet ULTIMATE FLOW) :D
And i can see how even 7- 8 fps can matter as i've already got 9 fps boost with my current OC with Marvels GOTG and another 7 or 8 can make it achieve 58-60 with all the eye candy upped ,Forza Horizon 5 plays at 85-95 fps high setting 1080p stock no OC but why not squeeze more i guess

CPU i have is Ryzen 5 3600 but i got ripped off on the PSU as i lacked knowledge on PSU department and foolishly took the word of the store guy and got a aerocool vx plus 450W -
https://www.amazon.in/Aerocool-Power-Supply-450Watt-Active/dp/B07ZJNRBRY

So far its delivering acceptable performence and i dont have any system issues with regards to PSU but still regret being less knowledgeable

What do you see with regards to the PSU .risky going about with it with 120W TDP on the GPU with flash ?

Unfortunately Aerocool PSUs are mostly notorious for how bad they are. Your unit is under tier D in the Tier list.

I do NOT recommend keep pushing your luck with it. It does not matter if it running ok up till now. You DON'T KNOW if it REALLY runs ok. You need specialized equipment to test it. It's risky to keep using it and I advice you to upgrade it to tier B or under EXTREME budget tier C (but still go for tier B). Your hardware might travel to hardware heaven faster if you keep using it.

Ahh when you say it with CAPS letters i actually understand that things might rough up if i keep using it and rather send my components to hardware heaven faster while im putting them through hell now

I just need one more advise please if that is alright with you since i am on a budget at the moment but cant risk any longer on aerocool and at the same time unable to spend much due to reasons ,which one of the below would you recommend please ,they land on Tier C & B i think with the exception of Gigabyte

Amazon Link - 1

Amazon Link - 2

Amazon Link - 3

Amazon Link - 4

Amazon Link - 5

Adata PSU

And of course if you know perhaps better options in the $60 meager range ,which i also realize that its a very small low budget range but as things are due to covid financially ,i guess any above would be better than aerocool ,right ?

I apologize for asking more than i had originally posted about ,as well would these suffice for 120W on the GPU with OC as well

Truly sorry once again and thanks once again as well please

I am not sure you actually looked at the tier list man.

Almost all link fall under tier D. The last 2 are under tier B and C but I don't know ADATA at all and Coolermaster is a brand I personally rather not buy. It's the only "decent" from your list though.

Wouldn't use ANY of them.

Edit: Just looked on Amazon India for better ones, but $60 is not enough to get something decent. You're wasting your money buying any of those. Long and short of it, if you can't increase your budget, stick with what you have, save up a bit and don't try and push your current card any further. Otherwise, you could be looking at costs far higher than that of a decent power supply.

Alright ,i can understand that completely and it is how it is ,i gotta spend otherwise its a risk i am not willing to take and building this pc up was a hardship and i cant risk to lose it

Amazon India & MD Computers are the online sites i trust here and i could check around a few local shops ,but what would you recommend i get that would be a good decent choice and would not break the bank please
Because market avialibilty is quite limited and many are out of stock even online

Good thing i asked today about the bios ,i honestly did not know i was sitting on a time bomb

Do you plan to upgrade your graphics card in the next 2-3 years?
