GPU BIOS Update?

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB. I've been having wierd FPS issues when gaming. I've done tons of troubleshooting tricks with no results.

One guy told me he updated his BIOS and now his problems are resolved.

How dangerous is updating my GPU BIOS?
How do I go about doing this?

same as updating motherboard bios, go to the gpu manufacturer website and see if they offer it.

GPU firmware updates are rarely ever issued. When they are, they typically address stability and control issues, such as power states and fan speeds. It is highly unlikely that a GPU firmware update will improve framerate.
